A Marketer’s Marketer: Ali Haeri
September 25, 2019
When you meet Ali Haeri in person, you are struck by his positive, calm style. He seems like a genuinely happy fellow. When you spend time with him, you begin to wonder what the secret source of this supernatural calm is. As the Vice President of Marketing at SteelHouse, he’s got his hands full. SteelHouse is a company based in Culver City, outside of Los Angeles. They are a Fund III company founded and led by Mark Douglas and they’ve emerged as a leader in understanding and managing online advertising. Their newest product positions them especially well in the connected TV space, providing technology that helps advertisers reach the growing pool of streaming services viewers.
Essentially Haeri leads a team whose mission is to take this cutting-edge service and market it to marketers. It’s a tough crowd but the team has made great progress putting in programs for demand generation and communication that are already paying dividends as they race to dominate this new category.
In the few spare hours he has in the week, he’s an instructor at UCLA Extension, teaching marketing and advertising courses in the Business & Management certification program. Outside of business, Haeri serves as chair of the Los Angeles County Community Action Board, an oversight commission part of the Department of Public Social Services.
Previously, Haeri served as a principal product designer at Symantec working on the Norton Security line of consumer software. Before Symantec, Haeri oversaw digital marketing for the Digital Media Services division of Verizon.
Haeri earned a BA in English from UCLA and an MS in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern.
All of his training and experience means that if the next time you see an ad on your favorite streaming program and it really resonates with you, it just might be because of Ali and the marketing team at SteelHouse provided the insights to the advertisers to send you something you are really interested in.
